US & MS Technical Theater
Course Description
US and MS Design and Production is a hands-on courses intended to foster an understanding of the designing, crafting and presentation of theatrical productions. Students will develop better problem solving, carpentry, electrical and leadership skills. This is a yearlong course. During the fall semester students are taught the basics of Technical Theatre as it pertains to terminology, carpentry and painting skills. The spring semester builds on the skills learned in the first semester with the introduction of additional disciplines and skill sets including Stage Electrics, Make-up and Script Analysis.

3. How do we use the psychology of shapes and color to affect how an audience perceives the world of the playwright?
4. How are plays realized for the stage?
5. How do designers for theatre develop a unified vision of a production?
6. How do you use the different tools and supplies to create the scenery and props for a production?
7. How are lights important to the world of the production?
8. How does sound affect the emotional feel of a production for and audience?
